I've kinda painted myself into a corner by using walnut to make spoons and ladles. The wood needs to be green or at least greenish to be reasonably workable. By the time I have been able to get other projects finished, the spoon wood is pretty well hardened and tough to carve the bowls of the spoon.

 

But anyway, anything worth doing is worth doing well. I have finally adapted techniques to make this type of work easier and still be small works of art. I hope you agree.
